ABOUT US
Community, Creativity, Care.
Sustainable Braidwood is a subcommittee of the UPPER SHOALHAVEN LANDCARE COUNCIL, founded with the values of community, creativity, and care.
The organisation was born after the Black Summer Bushfires, a time when the resilience and ingenuity of community life was on full display, showcased in the way people worked together in hard times. From this experience came a desire to bring more visibility to Braidwood’s many hardworking visionaries and change-makers who work to make community life a harmonious and solution-focused experience.
With this in mind, we created a website which which can help to create even more connections and opportunities for collaboration via workshops, events, and the SKILLS LIBRARY resource.
The Sustainable Braidwood STORY LIBRARY offers insights into sustainable business models, non-financial economies, localised media and advocacy, environmental stewardship, community support networks, regional tourism, economic development, and those who are finding creative solutions to complex problems, both big and small.
By amplifying these narratives, Sustainable Braidwood aims to support a strong, connected, and sustainable community.
